Two Women Arrested for Assault on 12-Year-Old in LA

Two women have been arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command in connection with the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl at the La Roman JHS School area.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, after the victim’s mother reported the case to the police, alleging that her daughter was attacked by three women without provocation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 12-year-old girl had an altercation with a seven-year-old boy, identified as Horm Giftan Mesopeh, who is related to the suspects, earlier that day.

The situation later escalated when the suspects allegedly went to the victim’s house, brought her to their residence, and assaulted her.

The two arrested suspects, Precious Giftan Mesopeh, 22, and Princess Giftan Mesopeh, 25, are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.

The third suspect, Priscilla Novishie Wornyo, 49, a fashion designer and mother of the two arrested women, is reported to have travelled to the Volta Region, and efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest her.

The two arrested suspects have been formally charged and are expected to be put before court on Monday, January 5, 2025.

The Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned the public against resorting to violence, especially in disputes involving children, and urged parents, guardians, and community members to use lawful means to resolve grievances and report incidents promptly.
