Ghanaians ushered in 2026 with crossover services nationwide, as churches filled with prayers, thanksgiving and prophetic declarations to commit the new year into God’s hands.
As the final minutes of 2025 slipped away, sanctuaries across the capital resonated with praises, repentance and hopeful words, while believers expressed confidence that the coming year would bring direction, restoration and breakthroughs.
At the House of Miracle Ministries, Prophet Samson Amoateng led a candle‑light declaration and unveiled the church’s 2026 theme – “Divine Speed and Testimonies.” “May God give you the blessing of speed,” he declared, praying for acceleration and divine favor in the lives of members.
The Trinity Baptist Church near UPSA also marked the transition with a focus on God’s presence. Rev. Kingsley Appiagyei told Joy News, “Our prayer is that the presence of the Lord will go with us, that the hand of the Lord will be strong over our nation and over the people of Ghana, and that in 2026 we will break boundaries and fulfil our dreams.”
Meanwhile, Reverend Whitcomb of the Agape House New Testament Church reminded worshippers that past failures need not define their future. “No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, no matter what happened in 2025, even if you failed, God has a destiny for you in 2026. That is the promise of God’s word,” he said.
Several congregants shared personal hopes with Joy News. “I’m trusting God to show Himself faithful in 2026. I will let God do His own thing in my life,” one worshipper said. Another added, “I want to have a good year and achieve all my goals, dreams and aspirations. I’m expecting God to elevate me and grant me success in every sphere of my life.”
From heartfelt prayers to vibrant celebrations, the crossover services underscored a shared belief that, with faith, unity and purpose, the new year holds renewed possibilities for Ghana.
