Botchway Accra, July 01, GNA – The Nana Kwasi Osew Foundation (NKOF), a not-for-profit organisation, has organised a three-day technical skills training programme for selected Senior High School (SHS) students at The Automation Hub in Accra. The students, numbering 15 were drawn from three Senior High Schools in Akuapem in the Eastern Region. The intensive training programme, organised in partnership with The Automation Group Ghana (TAGG), exposed participants to hands-on technical training, digital technologies and practical sessions facilitated by industry experts. Themed: “Empowering the Next Generation of Technicians,” the fully sponsored initiative aimed at equipping participants with practical knowledge and industry-relevant experience for careers in technology. It also sought to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice by providing students with technical competencies, innovation skills and career-ready knowledge. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Nana Kwasi Osew Gyamfi, Founder of NKOF, said the initiative formed part of the Foundation’s annual educational and skills development programme. He explained that the training reflected the Foundation’s commitment to empowering young people through education and technical skills development while preparing them for opportunities in Ghana’s growing technology and automation sectors. Nana Gyamfi, who encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunity, expressed hope that the training would inspire them to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and related fields, and contribute meaningfully to national development. Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the GNA described the initiative as timely and beneficial, saying it had enhanced their technical knowledge and practical skills. Expressing appreciation to the Foundation and its partners, they said the skills acquired would go a long way in shaping their career aspirations and future choices. The Nana Kwasi Osew Foundation has over the years implemented educational and youth empowerment initiatives aimed at enhancing the employability and entrepreneurial potential of young people.
