MCL Ghana has unveiled Grand Panache, a 22-floor luxury residential tower in Accra that the developers say will redefine premium living in the capital and court buyers from both the local affluent market and the Ghanaian diaspora.

The project was launched at The Palms by Eagles in Accra, with Richard Donkor, CEO of Grand Panache, describing it as “unique in kind by design and in terms of finishing and location.” Construction is scheduled to begin on July 1 and is expected to be completed within three years.

In a move that generated significant buzz, the development announced Ghanaian-American comedian and actor Michael Blackson as its brand ambassador. Blackson, who discovered the project on social media while initially looking to purchase a unit, said his interest quickly evolved into a broader role. “I was scrolling on social media and ran into this immaculate project. What started as an interest in buying a unit ended up with me becoming the brand ambassador for the entire building,” he said.

Blackson, known for his work in Hollywood comedy and his growing presence on social media, also revealed plans to produce a film in Ghana and establish a comedy club to nurture local talent. He addressed potential scepticism about the project’s credibility head-on. “My work speaks for itself, and I’m not going to get myself involved with a fraudulent company,” he said.

The development features modern architecture with premium finishes and integrated smart home technology, targeting high-net-worth individuals and diaspora investors looking for a foothold in Accra’s rapidly evolving property market. Donkor said early investors would benefit from launch-period discounts of between 10 and 15 per cent before prices are adjusted to market rates once construction begins.

“Ghana is the future, but more importantly, Ghana is the now,” Donkor said. “The landscape of Accra is changing rapidly, and the real estate future of Ghana is already happening.”

The launch of Grand Panache comes amid a broader surge in luxury real estate development across Accra, driven by returning diaspora investors, a growing class of local professionals, and increasing international interest in Ghana as a business and lifestyle destination. The trend reflects a wider pattern of investment confidence in the country, which has been actively courting global investors and positioning itself as a hub for business and services on the continent.

For prospective buyers, the combination of early-bird pricing, smart home integration, and a prime Accra location presents a time-sensitive opportunity. Donkor urged interested parties to act before the July 1 construction start date, after which prices are expected to rise significantly.
