KoKMA Launches Maiden Business and Investment Forum to Position Korle Klottey as Ghana Premier Investment Hub

The Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly has launched its maiden Business and Investment Forum in Accra, an initiative designed to position the municipality as Ghana premier destination for business and investment while promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

The forum, organised in collaboration with key stakeholders, brought together government officials, investors, development partners, business leaders, entrepreneurs and civil society organisations. It also served as the platform for the launch of the Korle Klottey Business and Investment Guide 2026 and the Sustainable Development Goals Voluntary Local Review Report 2025.

Municipal Chief Executive Alfredos Nii Anyetei Gaisie said the forum would become an annual platform for stakeholders to assess investment opportunities, build partnerships and track the municipality economic transformation. He highlighted Korle Klottey strategic position as Ghana commercial, financial and administrative hub.

A significant selling point is its hosting of the AfCFTA Secretariat, placing Korle Klottey at the centre of Africa emerging economic transformation. Revenue reforms boosted IGF from 14.7 million cedis in 2023 to 40 million by end of 2025.

Nearly 80 per cent of development interventions are financed through IGF. Projects include the Odorna Market, Usher Day and Night Market, and Atafoa Fish Market redevelopments.

MP Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings called for investments that improve livelihoods and create jobs, cautioning against development that displaces residents and traders.

At the national level, the Ghana Chamber of Mines recently demanded the removal of the Growth and Sustainability Levy. By producing investment guides and hosting forums, KoKMA signals that local government can drive economic development.
