Interior Minister Calls for Prayers to Support National Development
The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has called on Ghanaians to continue offering prayers for the government as it strives to fulfil its promises to the electorate.
Mr. Muntaka made the appeal on Sunday, December 14, while addressing the annual Damba Festival celebrations at Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region. He reiterated the government’s commitment to national development through the diligent implementation of its policies and programmes.
The Interior Minister attended the colourful event alongside the Municipal Chief Executive of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, other government dignitaries, the Ashanti Regional Gonja Community Chief, and esteemed Gonja Queen Mothers.
Speaking in alignment with the festival’s theme, “Maintaining Peace and Preserving Tradition for Community Development: The Role of Chiefs and Queen Mothers,” Mr. Muntaka underscored the importance of peace, unity, and harmony as foundational elements for sustainable community growth.
He also extended his personal greetings and those of President John Dramani Mahama to the Gonja community, acknowledging their contribution to the nation’s social fabric.
The Asawase Member of Parliament highlighted several key government initiatives designed to enhance the well-being of citizens and foster national cohesion. “I further took the opportunity to highlight key government interventions and policies aimed at improving the welfare of our people and strengthening national cohesion,” he shared in a subsequent Facebook post.
Mr. Muntaka concluded his address with a plea to the chiefs, queen mothers, and the entire Gonja community to sustain their support for the government through continued prayers, emphasizing its dedication to delivering on its mandate for the advancement of Ghana.
