The Accra Regional Police Command has apprehended a suspect, Suleiman Danjumah, in connection with the possession of illegal firearms, narcotics, and stolen property following a targeted operation in the capital.

Danjumah, who also goes by the names Solomon Addai and Innocent, was arrested on December 10, 2025, just weeks after being granted bail by the Adabraka District Court for a prior firearms offence.

Police records indicate Danjumah was initially arrested on November 25, 2025, for carrying a Smith and Wesson pistol and 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition. He was released on bail to allow for continuing investigations.

Acting on new intelligence, officers from the Accra Regional Police Command, with support from the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID), rearrested Danjumah with an additional unregistered firearm in his possession. A subsequent search uncovered a 9mm Parabellum Arcus 94 pistol, a set of military uniforms and caps, a Police-issued Huawei handset, four other mobile phones, a shocker, a jack knife, 34 blisters of Tramadol 225mg, and an unregistered motorbike.

Investigations revealed that Danjumah confessed to dealing in narcotics in the Achimota area, specifically at a location known as Las Vegas. He also allegedly admitted to firing warning shots during a dispute with another suspected drug dealer, Mutala Mohammed.

Mohammed was subsequently arrested, and a search of his premises yielded two parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and 19 blisters of Tramadol 120mg, commonly called ‘Red’.

According to police, Danjumah identified Usman Ali as the source of the firearm, and a manhunt is underway to locate and arrest Ali. Preliminary investigations have confirmed the stolen Police Huawei handset belonged to a police officer.

Both suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. The recovered narcotics have been secured as evidence and will be sent to the Police Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis. They are being prepared for court proceedings.

The Accra Regional Police Command has reaffirmed its dedication to combating the spread of illegal firearms and narcotics in the region, and encourages the public to provide any credible information that could aid in crime prevention efforts.
