Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly beat a landlady to death at Agona Nyakrom in the Central Region.
The suspect, identified as Paa Kwesi, is the grandson of a tenant and was involved in an assault that led to the death of the landlady, Madam Charlotte.
According to reports, Madam Charlotte confronted a tenant after discovering human waste wrapped in a polythene bag dumped in front of her room in their shared compound.
The tenant explained that she had suffered a stomach upset and could not reach a public toilet in time, but the situation escalated when she accused the landlady of discussing the matter with others in the community.
The tenant then called her grandson, Paa Kwesi, to the house, and upon arrival, he allegedly assaulted Madam Charlotte with a belt.
Madam Charlotte’s condition worsened due to complications linked to high blood pressure, and she was rushed to the Nyakrom Health Centre and later referred to another hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
