DAZ Foundation Funds Scholarships for 6 Needy Nursing Students in Ashanti

Six brilliant but financially needy nursing students have received scholarships from the DAZ Foundation, in partnership with the Ecode Foundation, to support their education in the Ashanti Region.

The awards cover both academic and hostel fees, benefiting five level-100 students and one final-year student.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rev. Dr Owusu Boateng, Executive Director of DAZ Foundation, said the initiative aims to support ten nursing students each year.

“One painful aspect is paying for someone’s school fees and the person also joking with his studies; it brings hope down, so the students should learn hard,” he urged.

He further explained that the scholarships are exclusively for nursing students aged between 20 and 30 years from disadvantaged backgrounds, adding that students on government scholarships are also eligible, as the foundation reallocates funds to support the second semester.

Rev. Dr Boateng revealed that the six beneficiaries bring the total number of nursing students supported by the foundation to 21 over the past four years.

He encouraged this year’s recipients to prioritise their studies and maintain transparency to ensure continued support for others in need.

Parents of some beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude, noting that without the scholarships, the future of their children’s education would have been uncertain.

They called on their children to value the support and make the most of the opportunity provided by the foundation.
