A Ghanaian prophet who predicted a catastrophic global flood has been remanded into custody by the Adenta District Court to undergo psychiatric evaluation until his next court appearance scheduled for January 15, 2025.
Ebo Noah, born Evans Eshun, appeared before the court on Thursday following his December 31 arrest by the Police Cyber Vetting Team for allegedly causing fear and panic through false communication.
The self-proclaimed prophet gained national notoriety after announcing a divine warning about a world-ending flood slated for December 25, 2025. He constructed an “ark” at his residence which he claimed would rescue believers from the impending disaster.
Court documents seen by GhSpeaks.com reveal prosecutors are pursuing charges related to his failed doomsday prediction and subsequent communications. The police investigation uncovered multiple alleged attempts to solicit funds from followers based on his prophecy.
When no floods materialized on Christmas Day as predicted, the suspect allegedly revised his forecast, claiming his prayers had postponed the destruction – a development the prosecution described as evidence of calculated deception.
Magistrate Ama Asare ordered the psychiatric evaluation after noting inconsistencies in Noah’s courtroom statements during Thursday’s proceedings. Security has been heightened at the Adenta court premises ahead of the January 15 hearing.
