Mariam Eliasu Launches Porter Path for Hope and Action
A former street porter, Mariam Eliasu, has launched a book and social initiative, ‘Porter Path From Load to Grace,’ detailing her inspiring journey and advocating for the vulnerable in society.
The initiative, born from Eliasu’s personal experiences, aims to offer hope and empowerment to the socially disadvantaged, while also challenging those more privileged to extend support.
Eliasu left her family in northern Ghana at the age of 18 to seek work in Accra, determined to fund her education without compromising her values. For over five years, she worked as a porter, carrying goods for people daily and earning meager stipends.
Through diligent saving and hard work, she managed to finance both her education and basic needs. Her story, now captured in ‘Porter Path From Load to Grace,’ reflects resilience and determination.
In partnership with the Relevant Achievers Impacting Nations (RAIN) Foundation, the Porter Path Foundation has been established. This foundation will focus on providing shelter and promoting better living conditions for porters and other vulnerable individuals on the streets.
The official launch of both the book and the foundation is planned for 2026, with events scheduled across Africa, Europe, America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Further details regarding the launch will be released in due course.
The vision behind Porter Path is to create a more dignified future for the socially disadvantaged, offering them not just assistance, but a pathway to lasting empowerment.
