The Rotary Club of Accra-Odadee AOGA has donated vital learning aids and essential items to the Awaawaa2 Centre, bolstering its capacity to support children with developmental needs.
The donation, aimed at enhancing early learning, therapy, and daily care, included an all-in-one computer, a printer, projectors, and a whiteboard to facilitate teaching and learning. Additionally, the Club provided toiletries, hand sanitisers, sanitary products, kitchen towels, and toilet tissues.
Recognising the importance of holistic development, the Rotary Club also supplied therapy and sensory balls for developmental sessions, assorted toys to encourage play-based learning, and fans to ensure a comfortable learning environment.
Rotarian Mother Teresa Brew, President of the Rotary Club of Accra-Odadee AOGA, explained that the initiative is a direct reflection of the Club’s commitment to improving learning outcomes and empowering vulnerable communities. “We believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential,” she stated.
The donation strongly aligns with Rotary International’s focus areas, particularly basic education and literacy, with a specific emphasis on children facing learning differences and special needs.
Management of the Awaawaa2 Centre expressed their deep gratitude for the timely and impactful gesture. “These items will significantly improve the daily learning experiences of the children and empower our caregivers and therapists to provide even more effective support,” a representative of the Centre said.
The Rotary Club of Accra-Odadee AOGA, originally an alumni club of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon and Aburi Girls’ Senior High School, now welcomes members from the general public. As part of Rotary District 9104, the Club actively pursues community service projects in health, education, sanitation, and youth empowerment.
With a dedicated membership and a collaborative spirit, the Club remains steadfast in its commitment to sustainable initiatives that uplift communities and transform lives across Ghana.
