Police Make Arrests After Clash at Boadua Palace

Local News

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has restored calm in Boadua following disturbances at the community’s chief’s palace over the weekend.

A group reportedly forcibly entered and damaged the palace, sparking tensions related to a chieftaincy dispute. According to a press release from the Police Public Affairs Unit dated December 16, 2025, the incident occurred on Saturday, December 14.

The Bretuo Abusuapanin of Boadua lodged a complaint alleging individuals from the Boadua Aduana Family were responsible. They claim the group damaged the palace’s main entrance, illegally entered the premises, and destroyed a shrine in a bid to seize control from the current Bretuo Family.

Police personnel were immediately dispatched to Boadua upon receiving the complaint to quell the unrest and prevent further escalation.

An investigation led to the arrest of eight suspects: Baffour Kwame Agyei Kwabena Twum, Baffour Kwame Annor, Baffour Kofi Dankwa, Maxwell Frimpong, Eric Dankwah, Nana Kwaku Frimpong, Baffour Kwasi Ampaabeng, and Baffour Yaw Anya.

All eight have been granted police enquiry bail and are expected to face the court on Thursday, December 18, 2025. “The suspects are currently assisting with our investigations,” the police stated.

The swift response from law enforcement appears to have de-escalated tensions in the community, restoring a semblance of order. However, police are urging residents to allow the judicial process to unfold without interference.

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout the region. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
