Obuasi Bitters CEO Rebuilds Pomposo School Block

Dr Collins Amo, chief executive officer of Aduro Ye Herbal Centre, has rebuilt the main block of Pomposo R/C Primary B in Obuasi after it was gutted by a fire last year.

The blaze destroyed fridges, textbooks donated by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, computers, laptops, printers and TV sets, causing losses worth several thousand GH₵.

One year on, teachers and pupils can now work in a modern facility that includes a spacious staff office, washrooms and a headmaster’s office, a project fully funded by Dr Amo following a petition from the school authorities.

“As an old student of the school and a good corporate citizen, we decided to come in and rebuild the structure. We can’t leave everything in the hands of the government alone. We must all support,” Dr Amo said.

Obuasi East Municipal Director of Education Kwabena Owusu Nketia praised the intervention, noting that Dr Amo’s investment “strengthens education delivery in our community and sets a benchmark for private sector involvement.”

Headmistress Regina Ocansey expressed profound gratitude, adding, “We were left helpless after the fire outbreak. A year on, we can only say a big thank you to Dr Collins Amo for coming to our aid.”

Just two weeks ago, the company also donated five thousand baby diapers to health facilities across Obuasi as part of its corporate social responsibility programme, underscoring its broader commitment to community welfare.

The newly rebuilt block is expected to boost learning outcomes and restore confidence among parents, while Dr Amo’s continued philanthropy highlights the vital role of local entrepreneurs in supporting Ghana’s educational infrastructure.
