FC Nordsjaelland’s Prince Amoako Jr is eyeing a dream call-up to the Black Stars, Ghana’s national football team, as he continues to impress with his performances for the Danish side.
Amoako Jr has been a great addition to Nordsjaelland since the start of the season, helping the team chase a playoff spot. His teammate, Caleb Yirenkyi, has recently played for the national team, and Amoako Jr is keen to follow in his footsteps.
‘We’ve had conversations about the national team, but it’s never been about what’s on the inside,’ Amoako Jr told Joy Sports. ‘On the outside, from what I see, the national team is always good to play. You’re representing your country and representing the very place that made you.’
Amoako Jr believes that being invited to the national team will be a morale booster for his performance and confidence. ‘For me, it’s always a big deal to play in the national team, and to be called up for it would mean the world to me. It would just elevate my confidence, and everything else will just align,’ he added.
With 11 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions for Nordsjaelland, scoring six and assisting five, Amoako Jr is certainly making a strong case for himself. His dream of playing for the Black Stars may soon become a reality, and it would be a well-deserved recognition of his hard work and dedication to the sport.
