The 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration in Ejinsu concluded on a high note as officials called for sustained investment, innovation and policy support to boost Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Speaking at the colourful event held in Asotwe, Alexander Owusu, representing the Member of Parliament for Ejinsu, lauded the dedication and resilience of local farmers.
“As a constituency, we value our farmers. Hon. Kwabena Boateng believes that rewarding excellence motivates more excellence,” Owusu said. “This tricycle is not just a gift—it is a tool that will enhance productivity, transportation and overall efficiency on the farm.”
He presented the tricycle to the Municipal Best Farmer, Kyeame Kwame Serbe, who thanked the assembly and noted the vehicle will ease transport of produce from field to market.
The municipal assembly, led by Municipal Chief Executive Jerryne Asante, pledged continuous collaboration with stakeholders across the agriculture value‑chain to empower farmers and support sector growth.
Officials urged private investors, research institutions and government agencies to innovate and invest, stressing that recognition of outstanding farmers can inspire broader excellence.
The ceremony underscored farmers’ central role in food security, local economies and national development, echoing the event’s theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future.”
Stakeholders are expected to convene in the coming weeks to outline actionable plans that translate the day’s calls into concrete projects.
