The family of the late Apostle Professor Emeritus Engineer Kwadwo Safo Kantanka has announced the dates for his burial and funeral services, marking the formal farewell to one of Ghana’s most distinctive figures in engineering, technology, and religious leadership.

Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, disclosed the arrangements during a press conference on Thursday. The burial service for the Founder and Leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission will take place on July 30, 2026, at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region.

“The venue for the burial service of our late father is Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region,” Mrs. Adwoa Safo stated, inviting church members, family, and sympathisers to join in paying their final respects.

The funeral service will follow the next day, on July 31, 2026, at the Independence Square in Accra — a venue that underscores the national significance of the late Apostle’s legacy. Mrs. Adwoa Safo called on members of the Kristo Asafo Church, friends, and all individuals who benefited from her father’s support and charity works to attend.

She made particular mention of the late Apostle’s well-known compassion for persons living with disabilities, noting that many would want to honour his memory. “My father was a great fan of the disabled in our society and they would all want to identify with him on that day,” she said.

A thanksgiving service is scheduled for August 8 in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, reflecting the late Apostle’s roots. The funeral committee is still finalising the exact venue, with details to be communicated in due course.

Apostle Prof. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka earned widespread recognition for his contributions to engineering and technology in Ghana, including pioneering work in automobile manufacturing under the Kantanka brand. He also built a religious movement through the Kristo Asafo Mission that combined Christian worship with an emphasis on self-reliance and African innovation.

His death has drawn tributes from across the political, religious, and technological spectrum, with many acknowledging his role as an unconventional visionary who challenged conventional boundaries between faith, science, and enterprise.
