Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, the Member of Parliament for Karaga and former Minister for Finance, has refuted assertions that burgeoning support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in Northern Ghana stems from ethnic or regional affiliations.
Speaking to supporters during a campaign rally for Dr. Bawumia in Yagaba-Kubori, Dr. Amin Adam strongly condemned the notion that Northerners are backing the former Vice President unquestioningly. He emphasized the discerning nature of voters in the region, highlighting their deliberate approach to political decisions.
“Northerners have been told that we are blindly following Dr. Bawumia. I want them to know that we are not blind—we can see clearly,” he declared, directly challenging the narrative of automatic loyalty.
According to the Karaga MP, the groundswell of support from leaders and party members in the North is rooted in Dr. Bawumia’s demonstrable competence, integrity, and leadership capabilities—qualities that transcend shared backgrounds or local ties.
“When we look at Dr. Bawumia, we see a competent man, a humble man, and a truthful man. We see a President,” Dr. Amin Adam stated emphatically, adding that these attributes uniquely position him to steer the country forward.
