Lightwave Mulls Lawsuit Over Health Ministry’s LHIMS Silence

Politics

Lightwave eHealth Solutions may take legal action after the Ministry of Health ignored its attempts to resolve a dispute over the LHIMS contract, project coordinator Eric Adjei said on JoyNews.

Adjei told the AM Show that Lightwave has formally submitted documents to the President’s office, the Chief of Staff and the Ministry of Health, yet no feedback has been received.

“We have sent copies to the President’s office through the Chief of Staff and to the Ministry of Health, but as we speak, no response has been heard,” he said.

The coordinator warned that the ministry’s silence suggests an unwillingness to involve an independent body that could settle the matter.

Lightwave argues the Ministry of Health alleges breach of a GH₵ 100 million contract for failing to connect nine hundred and fifty health facilities to the Lightwave Health Information Management System (LHIMS).

Ministerial officials have referred the case to the Office of the Special Prosecutor, the Attorney‑General, EOCO and the National Intelligence Bureau for advice.

In contrast, Adjei claimed there are mysteries surrounding payments made to the organisation tasked with auditing Lightwave, raising concerns about the selection process.

“If the situation persists, we will go to court,” he affirmed, adding that any judgment debt can only be addressed through the legal system.

Lightwave maintains it has followed due process and remains open to dialogue, but insists it will defend its reputation should the dispute proceed to litigation.
