Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communications for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, says he feels no sympathy for the governing National Democratic Congress as internal tensions grip the party.
“I don’t wish them well because the NDC clearly has become a menace to this country,” Mr Aboagye said in an interview on Joy FM’s Top Story on Monday evening.
His remarks come amid growing discussions about succession politics within the NDC, which returned to power after the 2024 elections. Several party figures have begun positioning themselves for future leadership roles, sparking debate about unity and direction.
Mr Aboagye argued that the NDC is heading toward what he described as the fiercest internal contest in its history. He pointed to emerging political ambitions within the party as evidence of deepening divisions.
The opposition New Patriotic Party, which lost power in 2024, has been watching the NDC’s internal dynamics closely. Mr Aboagye’s comments signal the NPP’s willingness to exploit any fractures within the ruling party ahead of future elections.
The NDC has not yet formally responded to Mr Aboagye’s statements.
