MobileMoney Limited, Ghana’s leading digital transactions platform, has honoured key players in the country’s flourishing Fintech ecosystem at its 2025 Stakeholders’ Dinner & Awards in Accra.
The event celebrated impactful partnerships, outstanding service, and groundbreaking innovation, all contributing to greater digital inclusion and economic growth. It brought together representatives from the Bank of Ghana, partner banks, the Cyber Security Authority, technology firms, government agencies, and leaders from the Fintech and telecommunications sectors.
Speaking at the ceremony, MobileMoney Ltd CEO, Mr. Shaibu Haruna, underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in evolving Ghana’s digital financial landscape. “This event isn’t just about recognizing achievements; it’s about fostering the collaboration and honouring the industry leaders who are making it all happen,” he stated.
Hubtel was crowned the Overall Best FinTech Partner, while First Atlantic Bank took home the award for Overall Best Partner Bank. Patrick Penrich Ventures emerged as the Overall Best MoMo Agent, receiving a cash prize of GH₵ 50,000, and Ayewamu was named Overall Best Merchant, earning GH₵ 30,000.
Other recognized organizations included Blue Penguin, awarded FinTech Partner of the Year for Payments, and the Ghana Water Company Limited, celebrated as State-Owned Enterprise of the Year. CAMFED received the Development Partner of the Year award, with Nestlé taking the FMCG Partner of the Year honour.
In the corporate category, KGL Technologies was named Corporate Partner of the Year, and Comviva was recognized as Tech Partner of the Year. Within the banking and lending space, Letshego secured the Bank Partner of the Year (Lending) award, while JUMO was celebrated as FinTech Partner of the Year (Lending).
Bon Afrique enjoyed a successful evening, winning both Remittance Partner of the Year and Product of the Year. Jump was recognized for its innovation as Most Innovative FinTech Partner, and Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah was awarded Legal Partner of the Year.
The contributions of the media were also acknowledged, with Business & Financial Times receiving the Media Partner (Print) award, Joy FM/Joy News being named Media Partner (Radio & TV), and News Ghana honoured as Media Partner (Online).
The Bank of Ghana was celebrated as FinTech Enabler/Regulator of the Year, a testament to its crucial role in creating a forward-thinking digital financial ecosystem. Representatives from the Bank of Ghana applauded the industry’s achievements, highlighting Ghana’s position as the leading Mobile Money market in Africa for the past eight years.
Mr. Haruna further noted the transformation of the mobile money industry, stating that it has evolved “from simple money transfers to a national lifestyle, powering digital payments, savings, investments, and more.” Dzifa Romano Mensah, Head of HR at MobileMoney Ltd, emphasized that partnership, innovation, and collaboration remain key to driving the industry forward.
The event concluded with entertainment and celebrations, marking a significant milestone in Ghana’s digital finance journey.
