The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) has graduated a new class of peace and security professionals, urging them to uphold integrity and resilience in the face of Africa’s complex security challenges. At the 15th Graduation Ceremony in Accra, Commandant Air Vice Marshal David A. Akrong emphasized that integrity remains the foundation of leadership and trust, essential for changing the continent’s trajectory. Guest speaker Justice Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu warned of evolving warfare and rising extremism, stressing that political solutions are more sustainable than military responses. The ceremony honored outstanding graduates, including Desmond Ofosuhene, Yvonne Ofosua Yirenkyi, and Elsie Adwoa Adutwumwaa Boateng, who valedictoried the class. The event underscored the importance of perseverance and ethical leadership in building peace and justice across Africa.

The Commandant’s message resonated with the sentiments expressed in our earlier piece on integrity and perseverance as critical to Africa’s leadership future, while Justice Mensa-Bonsu’s remarks aligned with our recent article on the changing face of warfare and rising extremism. As the graduates step forward, they carry the responsibility to transform intention into impact, guided by the principles of justice and human dignity.
