Insurance and financial services brand, emPLE, has reaffirmed its commitment to West African arts and culture with its successful participation as a Bronze Sponsor and Presenting Partner at ART X Lagos 2025.
The art fair, which ran from November 6 to 9 at The Federal Palace, Lagos, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year.
emPLE’s involvement centred around supporting “Where There Is Life, There Is Hope (B’á ò kú, iṣẹ ò tán)”, a compelling installation by renowned artist Temitayo Ogunbiyi, curated by Missla Libsekal. The artwork prompted viewers to consider how creativity, movement, and care can foster more equitable societies.
Ogunbiyi’s multidisciplinary approach, encompassing drawing, sculpture, and site-specific installations, explored the interconnectedness of people, their surroundings, and the ecological systems that sustain them.
Olalekan Oyinade, Managing Director of emPLE, explained that the partnership is a natural extension of the company’s core values. “At emPLE, we view insurance as a platform for possibility. By supporting creativity that advances sustainability, we reaffirm our belief in outcomes shaped through collaboration,” he stated.
“As we expand our engagement across the continent, we remain committed to helping communities shape futures defined by resilience, innovation, and shared responsibility.”
Thousands of visitors attended the 10th edition of ART X Lagos, with many deeply engaging with Ogunbiyi’s installation and its powerful themes of hope and collective wellbeing.
Tokini Peterside‑Schwebig, Founder and Chairman of ART X Lagos, lauded emPLE’s support. “We’re delighted to have partnered once again with emPLE. Their commitment to sustainability, community, and regional impact aligns powerfully with ART X Lagos’ mission,” she said.
“Together, we created a platform that encouraged reflection while advancing conversations that resonate not only in Nigeria, but across the continent.”
emPLE’s sponsorship of the Special Project underscores its broader strategy to champion storytelling, nurture creativity, and drive sustainable development initiatives throughout West Africa, embodying its INSPIRE values – Integrity, Nurture, Service, Purpose, Innovation, Respect, and Excellence.
