The Ghana Police Service has vowed to bring to book all individuals involved in Wednesday’s violent mob attack at Kwame Danso in the Sene West District.

The December 10, 2025, incident saw youths launch coordinated attacks on the District Court and the Kwame Danso Police Headquarters. Authorities say calm has been restored following the swift deployment of reinforcement teams.

According to police reports, the disturbances began around 10:30 a.m. when approximately 100 youths stormed the District Court while a hearing was in progress. The mob vandalised property, including furniture and fans, and forcibly freed two individuals who were standing trial.

“The youth damaged items on sight and posed a threat to everyone present,” a police source revealed.

The violence subsequently spread to the Kwame Danso Police Headquarters, where two officers were attacked and parts of the station were vandalised.

Reinforcement teams from the Atebubu Division, alongside personnel from the Formed Police Units (FPUs), were quickly dispatched to the scene. They successfully dispersed the mob and stabilised the area.

Following the incident, the Inspector-General of Police ordered the temporary closure of both the Kwame Danso Police Station and the District Court. Personnel have been reassigned to other locations within the region as investigations continue.

The Bono East Regional Command explained that the closures were a precautionary measure. “This measure is to ensure the safety of personnel while investigations continue,” they stated.

ASP/Mr Appiah Danquah, Acting Public Relations Officer for the Bono East Region, reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to ensuring justice prevails. “Perpetrators will be identified, arrested, and made to face the full consequences of the law,” he stressed. “We remain committed to maintaining peace and protecting the community.”
