University of Ghana Delays 2025/2026 First Semester Start

The University of Ghana (UG) has adjusted the commencement date for course registration for undergraduate students ahead of the First Semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

According to a notice from the Academic Affairs Directorate, course registration will now begin on Monday, December 15, 2025, a change from the previously announced date.

The University encourages students to utilise the revised start date to secure their desired courses and finalise registration procedures without delay. “We encourage students to take advantage of this earlier start to secure their courses and complete registration promptly,” the statement read.

While the start date has been revised, the existing registration deadlines for all student categories remain unchanged. Students are advised to consult the university’s official academic calendar, accessible online, for complete details.

For students requiring assistance during the registration process, the notice provided contact information:

  • Academic Issues: Contact your respective College Academic Office.
  • Financial Issues: Contact the Students Accounts Office.

Furthermore, UG has announced tentative dates for the random allocation of residential spaces:

  • Continuing Students: Monday, December 29, 2025
  • Level 100 Students: Monday, January 12, 2026

The university stressed that promptly signing up is vital for students hoping to participate in the room allocation process.

The Academic Affairs Directorate expressed gratitude for students’ ongoing cooperation and conveyed optimism for a seamless and successful registration period.
