Assessment cannot be efficient and trustworthy if it is fraught with discrimination. Once discrimination sets in, it renders the results worthless. Discrimination can occur on the grounds of race, sex, religion, ethnicity, creed etc. Non discriminatory assessment means that in the assessment process, we should not be bias against individuals who are different from us. By comprehensiveness, it means all the needs of the child should be covered. This can be achieved if the academic, social, physical, sensory abilities, emotional and behavioual needs re assessed. It is important to record any information during assessment for purpose of not losing any important information. Recording can be done on paper or tape.

Technical adequacy deals with the trustworthiness of the tolls used for collecting information. Basically, we make use of validity and reliability of assessment tools. Validity means the tools for assessment should help reveal the problem of the one being assessed and reliability means the information should be reliable.
