Awadey Klenam Cromwell, a recent graduate of Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC-Legon), stood out amongst a competitive field of applicants. His academic excellence has secured him a full Academic City Scholarship to pursue his dreams at Academic City University. The prestigious Academic City Presidential Scholarship is more than just financial aid; it’s a comprehensive program designed to nurture the next generation of African innovators.

Academic City University, known for its state-of-the-art facilities and commitment to providing a world-class education, annually awards the scholarship to deserving students who demonstrate exceptional potential. Awadey’s selection highlights not only his outstanding academic record but also his leadership qualities and passion for engineering.

Awadey’s achievement underscores Academic City’s dedication to fostering future engineering leaders. The scholarship provides a comprehensive support system, enabling Awadey to focus on his academic and personal growth without financial constraints. He is now set to embark on his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, fully supported by the university.

Awadey’s journey began at PRESEC-Legon, where he quickly distinguished himself as a brilliant student with a keen interest in STEM fields. His hard work and dedication paid off when he was selected as a recipient of the coveted Academic City Presidential Scholarship, valued at $40,000. This scholarship is awarded annually to students who demonstrate remarkable academic success, leadership potential, and a desire to innovate – qualities that Awadey possesses in abundance.

The Academic City Scholarship covers a wide range of expenses, including tuition, accommodation, meals, a laptop, a monthly stipend, and transportation. This comprehensive support allows recipients to fully immerse themselves in their studies and extracurricular activities, without the burden of financial worries.

Ms. Nelly Agyemang-Gyamfi, Director of Marketing and Communications at Academic City, expressed her enthusiasm for Awadey joining the university. “At Academic City, we believe in rewarding excellence and empowering young students who exhibit not only academic brilliance but also a passion for innovation and leadership,” she said. “Awadey Klenam Cromwell embodies these qualities, and we are proud to support his journey in Mechanical Engineering.”

Awadey is not the first PRESEC-Legon student to benefit from this prestigious scholarship. He follows in the footsteps of David Effah, a previous recipient who is now studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Ezekiel Kpodo of St. Augustine’s College, who is studying Biomedical Engineering, is also a past awardee.

Upon receiving the Academic City Scholarship, Awadey expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity. “I have always had a deep fascination with engineering, particularly in the field of mechanical engineering,” he said. “I am confident that Academic City will provide the right training and skill set to empower me to build something of my own in the near future.”

Academic City is committed to providing Awadey with the guidance and resources he needs to succeed. With experienced faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and a focus on hands-on learning, the university aims to nurture his potential and help him become a leading expert in mechanical engineering.

Awadey Klenam Cromwell’s achievement, securing the Academic City Scholarship, stands as a testament to his hard work and potential. The scholarship itself represents Academic City’s unwavering commitment to fostering future leaders in engineering and technology. This Academic City Scholarship represents a significant investment in Ghana’s future, and Awadey’s story serves as an inspiration to aspiring engineers across the nation.
