Head-On Collision at Ho Claims One Life, Injures 13

One person died and thirteen others sustained injuries in a head-on collision on Power-House Road in Ho, Volta Region, on Friday, December 19.

The accident involved a Hyundai saloon car with registration number GE 1005Y and a Toyota Land Cruiser, CR 2318-25, affecting a total of fifteen people, according to a Facebook post by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

Thirteen occupants suffered varying degrees of injury, while one person fortunately escaped unharmed.

The Ho Municipal Rescue Team of the GNFS, led by Assistant Divisional Officer II (ADO II) Elorm Dorlvo, swiftly responded to the scene. Fire officers worked diligently to rescue all thirteen injured victims from the wreckage.

“We immediately transported the injured to the Ho Teaching Hospital for urgent medical attention,” ADO II Dorlvo stated.

Following the rescue operation, GNFS personnel cleared the roadway of debris and the damaged vehicles, restoring safe passage for motorists and pedestrians. The incident caused a temporary disruption to traffic flow in the area.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when driving along that stretch of road.
