NSA Denies 'Special Posting' Payment Claims, Warns of Scams

Politics

The National Service Authority (NSA) has vehemently denied allegations that prospective national service personnel are being pressured to pay for favourable postings. The Authority has described the claims as fraudulent and misleading.

In a strongly worded statement, the NSA emphasized that it does not, and will not, charge any fees for posting or reposting of service personnel. It also categorically denied offering preferential treatment in exchange for money.

“All deployments are conducted through a fully automated, transparent, and merit-based system, strictly adhering to national service regulations,” the statement read. The NSA has urged anyone soliciting funds for posting assistance to be reported to the security agencies immediately.

The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to upholding fairness and integrity throughout the entire national service process, stating that no unofficial arrangements or special considerations will be tolerated.

Beyond addressing these allegations, the NSA highlighted several initiatives designed to simplify the registration process for prospective personnel. These include a collaboration with the National Identification Authority (NIA) and the Ghana Publishing Company to establish a dedicated help desk at the NSA headquarters.

This help desk is designed to swiftly resolve discrepancies in personal information, such as name changes or date-of-birth corrections, before registration. Furthermore, the NSA successfully negotiated reduced fees for gazette services, lessening the financial burden on applicants.

In a move to modernize the documentation procedure, the NSA partnered with the Ghana Publishing Company to launch an e-gazette platform, providing a quicker and more efficient means for personnel to address gazette-related requirements.

To bolster support, specialized desks have been set up at all Regional Offices, and a dedicated IT Desk is now operational at the NSA Headquarters. These resources, available from Monday, 8th December 2025, until the registration deadline on Friday, 12th December 2025, will offer assistance to those facing challenges.

Regional offices will handle walk-ins, while the head office will operate on an appointment-only basis to minimize waiting times and ensure effective service delivery. Appointments can be booked via designated phone lines or a Google form.

Prospective service personnel requiring assistance can reach the NSA Call Centre at the following numbers: 0554404422, 0554400078, and 0554400069. A Google form is also available for session reservations, with both in-person and online support on offer.

The NSA expressed its gratitude for the cooperation of prospective personnel and reiterated its dedication to a smooth, transparent, and trustworthy national service registration and deployment process. It once again cautioned the public to remain vigilant and report any attempts to exploit the system for financial gain.
