Mrs. Georgina Owusu-Achiaw, affectionately known as Afia Badu, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and dedication to her family and community. Born in 1954, she lived a fulfilling life until her demise in 2025. The family, including her children, Mr. Kwasi Owusu-Kyeremateng, Mrs. Unis Adu, Mrs. Sandra Acheampong, Mrs. Martha Addo, and Mr. Kojo Owusu-Ansah, are deeply saddened by her loss.

The funeral arrangements for the late Mrs. Georgina Owusu-Achiaw have been announced. A candlelight vigil will be held on Friday, 20th February 2026, from 7-9 pm at her residence in Anwomaso, Eshie’s house. The following day, Saturday, 21st February 2026, there will be a lying-in-state ceremony from 4 am to 8:30 am at her residence, followed by a memorial service from 9 am to 11 am at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, KNUST.

The burial will take place on Saturday, 21st February 2026, at 12 pm at the Ejisu Onwe cemetery. A funeral gathering is scheduled for 2 pm at the Anwomaso JHS. On Sunday, 22nd February 2026, a thanksgiving service will be held at 8 am at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, KNUST, and a family gathering will follow at 2 pm at the Anwomaso JHS.

Mrs. Georgina Owusu-Achiaw is survived by her husband, Mr. Kofi Owusu-Achiaw (deceased), and her children, as well as her grandchildren, including Jerele, Rishanti, Alexis, Elijah, Zaneta, Zoe, Zion, Nana Yaw, Adjoa, Jailyn, Kailyn, Chanelle, Courtney, David, Alex, Sylvester, Naylah, and Zenaya. The family has invited all friends and sympathizers to join them in mourning the loss of their beloved matriarch.
