Kudus Scores First Champions League Goal as Spurs Beat Prague

Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus finally broke his Champions League duck, scoring from the penalty spot to help Tottenham Hotspur secure a 3-0 victory over SK Slavia Praha on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old coolly slotted the ball home in the 50th minute, doubling Spurs’ lead. Kudus’ goal came after Pedro Porro was brought down by Youssoupha Sanyang, prompting the referee to point to the spot.

This marks Kudus’s third goal and sixth assist across all competitions this season for Tottenham. The Black Stars forward has been steadily contributing to the Lilywhites’ campaign.

“I think actually Mo started the season quite well,” Spurs manager Thomas Frank remarked in his post-match press conference. “Then he had a dip, and now I think in the last three performances or something like that, it seems he has that freshness, energy, acceleration, decisiveness in his actions.”

Spurs had taken the lead earlier in the game, with David Zima unfortunately putting the ball into his own net in the 26th minute. The scoring was completed when Xavi Simons converted another penalty in the 79th minute after a foul on Igoh Ogbu.

The win provides a boost for Tottenham, who were looking to bounce back from a disappointing 5-3 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in their previous Champions League match.

Tottenham’s attention now shifts to domestic duties, as they prepare to travel to Nottingham Forest for a Premier League fixture on December 14.

The team and fans celebrated Kudus’ goal with a jubilant stool dance, showcasing the pride he takes in his Ghanaian heritage.
