Latif Abubakar envisions Ghana Must Go as a comprehensive portrayal of Ghana, emphasizing its cultural heritage, abundant resources, and attractive investment climate. “Today we present our 20th milestone production titled ‘Ghana Must Go’, the first ever play that brings to stage the Ghana story in full: who we are, what we have, and why the world must come to Ghana to experience and invest,” Abubakar stated, highlighting the play’s ambition to encapsulate the essence of the nation.
The play strategically aligns with the Black Star Experience and The Big Push Ghana Project, aiming to elevate Ghana’s visibility through cultural-driven investment diplomacy. This initiative seeks to leverage the power of the arts to foster international interest and engagement. The tour plans to engage with at least 2000 potential investors and tourists in each host city, spanning continents from Kenya and Qatar to the United States and the United Kingdom.
Globe Productions: A Decade and a Half of Theatrical Excellence
For the past 15 years, Globe Productions has been a driving force in Ghanaian theatre, delivering 19 impactful productions. “Over the past decade and a half, Globe Productions have brought to life nineteen (19) powerful productions that have inspired, challenged and entertained people around the world,” Abubakar noted, underscoring the company’s commitment to quality and relevance.
Their theatrical expedition to Madrid, Spain, marked a significant moment, garnering acclaim and attracting ambassadors. “It was a sold-out and welcomed twenty-nine (29) ambassadors – a testimony of the power of storytelling and the global hunger for authentic Ghanaian content,” Abubakar said, emphasizing the global appeal of Ghanaian narratives.
During the pandemic, Globe Productions innovated with a virtual play on COVID-19, reaching millions worldwide. “With the support of the ministries of health and information that play reached over 3.5 million views across the globe and to celebrate the fusion of nature, culture and introduce a bold new tradition called theatre on the cruise,” Abubakar explained, showcasing the company’s adaptability and reach.

Hon. The Ghana Must Go play will be staged at the Accra International Conference Centre on the 24th and 25th of May 2025, with show times at 4pm and 8pm daily.
