Funeral rites for Ayawaso East MP slated for January 5

The final funeral rites and burial of the late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Naser Toure Mahama, will take place on Monday, January 5, at his constituency office in Nima–Kanda.

According to the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Yussif Jajah, the late Toure Mahama died on Sunday, January 4.

Speaking on the funeral arrangements, Mr Jajah disclosed that through the intervention of President John Dramani Mahama, the necessary processes were fast-tracked to secure the release of the late MP’s body.

“As we speak now, we have brought the body home,” he stated.

A Janazah prayer will be observed on Monday morning at exactly 10:00 am at the Ayawaso East Constituency Office, located along the Kanda Highway, in line with Islamic customs.

“God willing, tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock, prayers will be observed at the Kanda Highway where his constituency office is. His Eminence, the National Chief Imam, will lead the Janazah prayer,” Mr Jajah said.

After the prayers, the body of the late MP will be conveyed to the Madina Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
