Lasmid, the Friday‑night hit‑maker, told Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz that Muslim and Indian music heavily shape his creative process. The interview, conducted by Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie on Monday, 8 December 2025, revealed the genres he turns to during his leisure moments.

“I listen to music a lot. Mostly, Muslim songs or Indian songs. It depends on the mood I am in, but mostly it is Muslim songs,” the artiste said.

When asked why the sounds resonate with him, Lasmid explained, “I like it, you won’t get that feeling. Somebody go fit do some style bi. They have a unique progression.”

The Ghanaian singer’s recent work, including his verse on Kojo Blak’s track “Balance,” showcases melodic patterns reminiscent of the micro‑tonal textures found in Islamic worship chants and Indian compositions, which often employ scales beyond the typical diatonic framework.

In addition to sharing his influences, Lasmid announced the release of his new single “No Issues.” The track is already gaining significant attention on streaming platforms and social media, signalling another potential hit for the young star.

Music analysts note that Lasmid’s openness to diverse sonic palettes may broaden his appeal both locally and across the African diaspora, reinforcing Ghana’s growing reputation as a hub for innovative Afro‑fusion sounds.
