Kade Court Fines 4 Youths GH¢3,800 for Teacher Assault

The Kade Magistrate Court has sentenced four youths to pay fines of GH3,800 each for their role in the assault of a teacher at the Kade Senior High Technical School (SHTS).

The court, presided over by His Worship George Davis Ofori, ruled that GH1,800 of each fine should be paid to the court, while GH2,000 is to be paid directly to the victim as compensation.

The magistrate further warned that any of the convicts who fail to pay the full amount will serve a six-month prison sentence.

This development follows the conviction of five persons accused in connection with the same assault incident.

The accused were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, to wit assault, assault. All five pleaded guilty to the charges and were accordingly convicted on their own plea.
