Tamale Chief Praises IGP Team for Crime Crackdown Success

Gulkpe Naa Alhaj Alhassan Abdullai and Tamale traditional elders praised the IGP Special Operations Team, led by DSP Bawah Abdul Jalil, for curbing crime in the metropolis.

The team met with the chief and elders at the Chief’s Palace in Tamale, where they discussed recent security developments and the impact of the team’s intensified operations.

“We commend the dedication of the Special Operations Team; their presence has restored calm in our community,” Gulkpe Naa Alhaj Alhassan Abdullai, chief of Gulkpe, said.

Traditional authorities highlighted the team’s professionalism and its commitment to tackling drug abuse and related offences, noting a marked decline in armed robbery, rape and attacks on mobile‑money vendors.

“Our patrols will remain uninterrupted until 1 January 2026 to ensure maximum security for the New Year transition,” DSP Bawah Abdul Jalil stated.

In appreciation, the chief and his elders presented the squad with a bull and two fifty‑kilogram bags of rice, acknowledging the officers’ sacrifices in restoring order.
