Hubtel has been named the Overall Best Fintech Partner at the 2025 Fintech Stakeholder Dinner & Awards, an event hosted by MobileMoney LTD, a subsidiary of MTN Ghana.

The awards ceremony, held under the theme “Celebrating the Power of Partnership and Service Excellence in Fintech”, brought together key players – regulators, financial institutions, and innovators – shaping Ghana’s rapidly evolving digital financial sector.

This year’s event spotlighted the crucial role of collaboration in propelling industry advancement. Speaking prior to the awards, Mr Shaibu Haruna, CEO of MobileMoney LTD, highlighted that the company’s growth is deeply rooted in partnerships with both businesses and the countless customers utilizing the Mobile Money ecosystem every day.

“This awards night serves to recognise the people and institutions who continue to push Ghana’s fintech frontier forward,” Mr Haruna stated.

Hubtel was honoured with both the Overall Best Fintech Partner award and a Citation of Honour. The recognition acknowledged the firm’s commitment to ensuring broad participation in the digital economy through operational excellence, innovation, and secure digital payment services.

The citation specifically lauded Hubtel for its “exceptional leadership, innovation, and unwavering commitment to excellence in Ghana’s digital financial landscape.”

The company’s unwavering dedication to building a secure payment infrastructure, combined with its strict adherence to the Payment Systems & Services Act (PSSA), was also identified as a benchmark for best practices within the sector.

The event underscored that trust and regulatory compliance are essential for sustained growth in Ghana’s fintech industry. Mr Hayford Kumah, Head of the FinTech Oversight and Supervision Unit at the Bank of Ghana, emphasized at the ceremony that “trust will remain the foundation of Ghana’s digital financial evolution.”

He further stated that the central bank’s primary responsibility is to cultivate “trust, safety, and soundness in the financial system,” and implored industry participants to strengthen their compliance measures and proactively combat financial crime as the sector expands.

Hubtel’s success is attributed to its strong partnership with MobileMoney LTD as well as other industry collaborators, leading to improvements in customer experience, wider access to digital services, and greater financial inclusion across Ghana. The company facilitates millions of mobile money transactions daily in the country.

Expressing gratitude, Hubtel extended its thanks to MobileMoney LTD, industry partners, regulators, merchants, and customers. The company reaffirmed its commitment to driving Africa’s progress by establishing a platform that enables seamless participation in the digital economy.

Hubtel and its partners are poised to shape the future of Ghana’s fintech sector, grounded in trust, operational excellence, and a collaborative spirit.
