Hojlund's Brace Leads Napoli Past Juventus to Claim Top Spot

Sports

Rasmus Hojlund netted both goals as Napoli secured a 2-1 victory over Juventus, propelling the defending champions to the top of Serie A.

The Denmark forward, on loan from Manchester United, opened the scoring early, sliding in to give Napoli the lead. Juventus replied when Kenan Yildiz equalised after a swift counter‑attack.

Hojlund sealed the win with a 78th‑minute header from point‑blank range, sparking celebrations at the San Paolo stadium.

Since arriving on a season‑long loan in September, the striker now boasts six Serie A and Champions League goals for Napoli. Former United midfielder Scott McTominay also came close, his header grazing the near post just before halftime.

McTominay required several visits to the touchline for treatment but managed to stay on the field, underscoring the physical intensity of the match.

Napoli’s haul of thirty‑one points puts them one point ahead of Inter Milan, while Juventus sit seventh with twenty‑three points.

Ghanaian fans will be watching Hojlund’s progress closely, given his Manchester United background and the increasing presence of Ghanaian talent in European football.

Napoli now turn their focus to the upcoming league fixture, while Juventus look to regroup and climb the table.
