The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is collaborating with the State Transport Company (STC) to deploy five shuttle buses to facilitate the movement of visitors during the ‘December in GH’ celebrations.

The initiative, announced on the GTA’s official Facebook page, aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance access to key event locations across Accra and its surrounding areas throughout December.

The designated shuttle routes are as follows:

  • Prampram to Tema Roundabout to 37
  • Oyarifa to Madina to 37
  • Pokuase to Achimota to Circle
  • Kasoa to Circle
  • Accra Mall to Black Star Square

According to the GTA, the shuttle service is intended to improve the overall ‘December in GH’ experience for both Ghanaians and international tourists. “This move is aimed at enhancing the December in Ghana experience and making transportation more convenient for both locals and tourists,” the Authority stated.

This year, the GTA has significantly increased its efforts to promote ‘December in GH’ as a premier cultural and tourism event. Beyond the shuttle service, the Authority is working closely with event organizers to ensure a well-publicized calendar of concerts, cultural performances, food festivals, and light displays.

Furthermore, the GTA is implementing crowd control measures, advocating for environmentally friendly travel options, and partnering with local communities to showcase Ghana’s diverse crafts, cuisine, and cultural heritage. “These measures are part of a broader push to position ‘December in GH’ as a major cultural and tourism highlight, attracting both domestic and international visitors and boosting local businesses,” the GTA explained.
