The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, has charged Ghana’s newly appointed Special Envoys to aggressively pursue foreign direct investment (FDI) and elevate the nation’s profile as a prime destination for global capital.

Mr. Madjie made the call during a three-day orientation program organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foreign Service Institute. He urged the Envoys to proactively identify and engage credible investors, connecting them with relevant stakeholders within Ghana.

He further emphasized the importance of actively promoting national investment platforms, particularly the upcoming Invest in Ghana Summit 2026, as a crucial avenue to showcase the country’s vast investment potential to the international community.

Highlighting key government initiatives, Mr. Madjie pointed to the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development (24H+) and the Big Push Agenda as pivotal drivers of economic growth and essential focal points for attracting investment. “These initiatives are not just policy statements; they are concrete opportunities for investors seeking impactful ventures,” he stated.

He spotlighted opportunities in strategic sectors including manufacturing, tourism, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, critical minerals, and green industries, stressing Ghana’s capacity for diversified investment. The GIPC boss noted that these sectors offer significant returns and contribute to sustainable development.

Mr. Madjie detailed the range of incentives available to investors, including tax holidays, duty exemptions, and robust legal protections, all designed to foster a favorable business climate and encourage long-term commitment. “We are committed to creating an environment where investment thrives,” he assured.

Concluding his remarks, Mr. Madjie pledged the GIPC’s unwavering support to the Special Envoys, offering technical assistance, comprehensive investment data, and streamlined facilitation services. He reiterated the Centre’s dedication to ensuring successful investor engagements and fostering sustainable economic growth throughout Ghana.
