Ex-Cyber Security Boss to Lead e-Crime Bureau

Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako, the former Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), has been appointed as the Executive Chairman of e-Crime Bureau. The appointment follows a decision by the newly inaugurated Board of Directors.

Dr. Antwi-Boasiako, a renowned cybersecurity expert and author, initially founded the e-Crime Bureau in 2011, serving as its Principal Consultant until 2017. He subsequently spearheaded the establishment of the CSA, holding the position of Director-General until March 2025.

Under his guidance, Ghana’s cybersecurity readiness experienced a significant boost, rising from 32.6% in 2017 to an impressive 99.27% in 2025, as reported by the International Telecommunication Union’s Global Cybersecurity Index.

He also played a pivotal role as the founding Chair of the African Network of Cyber Security Authorities (ANCA), championing pan-African cybersecurity frameworks and collaborating with the Smart Africa Alliance on a five-year continental development blueprint.

The inauguration of the Bureau’s third Governing Board is in line with its ambitious Transition and Growth Strategy, which aims to broaden its service offerings and expand its market presence both in Ghana and across Africa.

In his new capacity, Dr. Antwi-Boasiako is expected to provide crucial strategic direction and solidify the Bureau’s position as a leading Pan-African force in cybersecurity consulting, technology solutions, and business transformation.

“I am honoured to be entrusted with the responsibility to serve as the Executive Chairman, particularly considering the growth aspirations of the firm and the excitement of driving the Bureau’s international market,” Dr Antwi-Boasiako said after taking the Oath of Office. “I thank the Bureau and Members of the Board for the appointment. I look forward to working closely with the Executive Consulting Leadership, staff, partners and clients towards the realisation of the Transition and Growth Strategy.”

Mr. Emmanuel Agyei has been appointed as the Consulting Chief Executive (CCE), bringing his operational expertise to the table to implement the firm’s strategic objectives.

The Oath of Office and Oath of Secrecy were administered by H.L. Justice Rebecca Sittie, a retired Justice of the High Court.

The new Board comprises a diverse group of accomplished professionals and business leaders, including Mr. Daniel Adoteye (Board Member, strategic oversight), Dr. Suzanne Nti (Board Member, governance and policy), Professor Goski Alabi (Board Member, education and organisational strategy), Mr. Hicham El Achgar (Board Member, business leadership), Mr. Michael Abbiw (Board Member, corporate advisory), and Ms. Cecilia Antwi Kyem (Board Secretary, governance and compliance).

The inauguration ceremony was held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Bureau’s offices in Accra.

Established in 2011, e-Crime Bureau is a tier-1 licensed cybersecurity service provider, offering a comprehensive suite of services including consulting, investigations, and technology solutions throughout Ghana and the African continent.
