The Sean “Diddy” Combs trial has taken a dramatic turn, with disturbing new details emerging about an alleged hammer attack on Cassie Ventura’s apartment door. The incident, which reportedly followed a 2016 altercation, is now a focal point in the ongoing legal proceedings against Combs. The current sex-trafficking trial has brought forth a wave of allegations, with the hammer incident serving as a particularly jarring example of the behavior being scrutinized. Testimony from Kerry Morgan, Ventura’s former best friend, has added further context to the events surrounding the Diddy Cassie Trial.
Morgan recounted a harrowing scene, alleging that Sean Combs attempted to break into Ventura’s Los Angeles apartment with a hammer in the wake of an earlier assault at the Intercontinental Hotel. According to Morgan’s testimony, the incident occurred after Ventura had left the hotel following the initial altercation.
“Banging on the door with a hammer,” Morgan described in her testimony, painting a vivid picture of the alleged attempt to force entry. She further suggested that Ventura appeared strangely indifferent to the potential danger, conveying a sense that Ventura “didn’t seem to care if Combs came in and killed her.” Law enforcement arrived at the scene approximately three hours later. Despite the severity of the alleged incident, Morgan testified that no formal complaint was ever filed.
The courtroom also heard unsettling accounts of other instances of alleged violence. Morgan described a vacation in Jamaica where she witnessed Combs allegedly dragging Ventura down a hallway by her hair because she was, in his view, “taking too long in the bathroom.”
Morgan herself claimed to have been subjected to Combs’s alleged abuse in 2018. She testified that Combs choked her and threw a wooden hanger at her head, demanding information about Ventura’s alleged infidelity. Morgan reported suffering a concussion as a result of the alleged attack and sought urgent medical care.
The alleged hanger incident appeared to mark a turning point in Morgan and Ventura’s friendship. According to Morgan’s testimony, Ventura offered her $30,000 to sign a non-disclosure agreement approximately a month after the alleged assault. Morgan agreed, effectively ending their 17-year friendship. The two have reportedly not spoken in the seven years since. "I draw my line at physical abuse," Morgan stated, explaining her decision to end the friendship.
David James, Combs’s former personal assistant, also took the stand, offering a glimpse into the inner workings of Diddy’s world. James described a demanding work environment at Bad Boy Entertainment, characterized by long hours – often 20 hours a day, six to seven days a week. He recalled being told that the Bad Boy Entertainment office was "Mr. Combs’ kingdom. We’re all here to serve it."
James further testified about a conversation he overheard in Manhattan. According to James, Combs said of Ventura, "Cassie’s good. I got her right where I want her, she’s young." Combs allegedly added that she was "very mouldable."
The Diddy Cassie Trial continues to unfold, bringing forth serious allegations of violence, control, and abuse. Kerry Morgan and David James’ testimonies have shed light on the alleged hammer incident and other disturbing events, raising significant questions about the nature of Sean Combs’ relationships and the environment he fostered. The allegations surrounding the hammer incident remain a critical part of the ongoing trial proceedings.
