Gospel music star Diana Hamilton brought smiles to over 450 schoolchildren in Bukom, Accra, on Tuesday, December 10, treating them to food, drinks, and an inspiring performance in celebration of her twins’ birthday.
The award-winning artiste, alongside Accra Mayor Hon. Michael Nii Kpakpo Allotey, hosted the community outreach at Bukom Park. Pupils from various schools eagerly attended, enjoying a festive atmosphere filled with music and encouragement.
Diana Hamilton energized the crowd with a lively musical set, singing and dancing with the children before offering words of wisdom. “My kids, who are twins, are celebrating their birthday today, and as part of their celebration, I decided to celebrate with you since I didn’t get the chance to be with them as I always do,” she explained. “Every year, I celebrate with my kids, but this year the story is different, and I’m glad to have you all gathered here to help me celebrate my children.”
She urged the pupils to prioritize their education and strive for excellence, emphasizing the importance of discipline and hard work. “Discipline and determination pave the way to a bright future,” Diana Hamilton stated.
Mayor Allotey also addressed the children, encouraging them to remain focused on their studies and to dream big, regardless of their backgrounds. “Your circumstances should never limit your ambitions,” he said. “You can grow to become leaders, presidents, and impactful members of society.”
The event concluded with expressions of gratitude from both Diana Hamilton and the Mayor, followed by a closing prayer. This gesture underscores Diana Hamilton’s commitment to supporting children and underserved communities.
This year has been a successful one for the gospel musician, with her annual ‘Awake Experience’ held in Accra, Kumasi, and Sunyani, as well as a well-received event in the United States. Her latest single, ‘Aha Ye’, featuring Ntokozo Mbambo and Elder Mireku, is also gaining significant airplay and online traction.
