Students in Adidome and surrounding communities in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region can now access a modern, fully-equipped community library. The initiative, spearheaded by Togbe Kwasinyi Kakaklolo Agyeman, Chief of Adidome, aims to bolster education and promote lifelong learning within the area.
The newly opened library, a first for the community, boasts a comprehensive collection of textbooks, literature, reference materials, and digital resources. It’s designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for students to study after school and access learning materials.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Togbe Kwasinyi Kakaklolo Agyeman emphasized the project’s significance to expanding educational opportunities for the youth of Adidome. “This project reflects my commitment to helping our children and young people succeed,” he stated.
He further noted that access to quality learning spaces is essential for both academic progress and holistic intellectual development.
Happy Tsifokor, the Central Tongu District Director of Education, praised the initiative as a “timely and impactful intervention.” She encouraged students to frequently utilize the library to cultivate a strong reading habit, improve their understanding, and achieve better academic results.
Adison Mornyuie, the District Chief Executive for Central Tongu, also commended the effort. He appealed to individuals, organizations, and philanthropists to contribute to similar educational projects, stating, “Collaborative community investment is key to providing holistic and quality education for all children in the district.”
The library is anticipated to transform Adidome into a thriving learning hub, inspiring a new generation of readers and high achievers by providing an enriched educational experience.
