Access Bank Ghana Plc has launched a fully digitised version of its Pick Now Pay Later (PNPL) product, aiming to provide faster, easier, and more accessible short-term financing for salaried workers.
The relaunch, held at the bank’s Head Office in Accra on December 11, 2025, marks a significant upgrade from the previous manual process.
Michael Gyabaah, Head of Distribution, Accra East and Product Capabilities at Access Bank Ghana, emphasized that the revamped PNPL is a testament to the bank’s dedication to customer-centric financial solutions that address immediate needs.
“Although the manual PNPL was effective, it could no longer meet the demands of today’s fast-paced digital banking environment. People now need speed, clarity and convenience. With this relaunch, approval processes that previously took a day or two now take just minutes,” he stated.
The new digital PNPL empowers customers with salaries routed through Access Bank to complete the entire credit process remotely – from eligibility checks and product selection to vendor confirmation – all via their mobile phones, eliminating paperwork and branch visits.
Mr. Gyabaah explained the seamless customer journey: “The platform enables users to browse partner shops, select products, verify their identity using one-time passwords (OTP), and confirm delivery instantly.”
He encouraged customers who haven’t yet channeled their salaries through Access Bank to do so to benefit from the facility. The bank has partnered with trusted vendors, including Ashfoam, Get4Less, Electromart, Electroland, Top Records, West Africa Hardware and Decor, Optima Solar and Franco Trading, providing access to home appliances, electronics, furniture, building materials, and other essential items.
According to Mr. Gyabaah, the relaunch isn’t merely about technology; it’s a demonstration of the bank’s social commitment. “Today’s launch represents progress rooted in empathy and innovation grounded in real life. It is about improving the everyday experience of our customers,” he added.
A key feature of the new PNPL is a six-month zero-interest offer, designed to alleviate financial burdens, particularly during the festive season. “Whatever you pick, you pay exactly the shop price with no interest for six months,” Mr. Gyabaah noted.
During a live demonstration at the launch, participants were shown how to sign up and make purchases. The process requires a Ghana Card or Non-Citizen ID, selecting their institution, and authenticating transactions via their phones. Following vendor validation and invoice upload, customers confirm delivery, and the loan is automatically processed on the platform.
Ugochi Okoro, Chief Operating Officer of Access Bank Ghana, added that the platform goes beyond simply offering convenience. “In truth, today is not just about unveiling a platform. It is about honouring the people who rely on us, the workers who show up every day, the families carrying responsibilities that never go away,” she said.
Ms. Okoro explained that the enhanced service aims to support customers when essential purchases are urgent and financial assistance is needed quickly and without stress. “More transparent, more dependable and more humane,” she stated, adding that the six-month zero-interest offer reflects the bank’s commitment to ethical and transparent banking.
She also assured customers of the platform’s robust security measures, highlighting the integration of strong authentication protocols to prevent fraud. “Every feature was designed with one intention, to make life a little easier and give customers the speed they deserve,” she concluded.
