Ghanaian musician Michael Adangba survived a motor accident early Thursday morning while en route to Bolgatanga to finalize arrangements for his Adangba Legacy Festival.
The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. near Tech Junction in Kumasi, when the vehicle he was travelling in collided with a truck, according to initial reports.
Mr. Adangba and his driver were promptly transported to a hospital for medical evaluation.
Speaking to JoyNews, the musician’s manager, Wenawome Aborah, confirmed the accident and stated that Adangba was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, a decision he believes mitigated the severity of his injuries.
“Adangba was injured but received medical attention and is now doing better,” Mr. Aborah added.
The impact of the crash resulted in significant damage to the musician’s car.
Despite the unfortunate incident, Mr. Aborah assured fans that Adangba is recovering well and the Adangba Legacy Festival is still scheduled to take place on December 21st at the Paga Town Park.
The festival, powered by Kacstone Records, is designed to celebrate Michael Adangba’s distinguished career, known for his impactful songs predominantly in Kasem, blended with English and other Ghanaian languages.
