Aben Wo Ha News Fans Unite on Year-End Trip to Buaben-Fiema and Kintampo Falls

Listeners of Nhyira FM’s ‘Aben Wo Ha News’ ended the year on a high note with an excursion to the Buaben–Fiema Monkeys Sanctuary and Kintampo Waterfalls.

The trip, organized by the ‘Friends of Aben Wo Ha News’ fanbase, aimed to strengthen the bond among the show’s loyal listeners. The show regularly discusses topics ranging from relationships and spirituality to social issues like injustice and paternity.

Twenty-five members embarked on the journey from the Ashanti Region to the Bono East Region, enjoying camaraderie and reflection along the way. At the Buaben–Fiema sanctuary, participants observed Black and White Colobus and Mona monkeys interacting freely with the local community – a unique experience for many.

The group learned about the long-standing peaceful coexistence between the community and the monkeys, and voiced support for increased national protection of the sanctuary’s heritage.

The excursion continued to the renowned Kintampo Waterfalls, where the group enjoyed the scenery, took photographs, and appreciated the restorative power of nature. Despite the nearly 17-hour round trip, participants described the outing as deeply rewarding.

“It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” one member shared, adding that the trip fostered stronger friendships and provided a welcome break from daily life.

Baffour Asare, Vice President of the ‘Friends of Aben Wo Ha News’, encouraged Ghanaians, particularly those in the diaspora, to tune into the show for comfort, community, and authentic Ghanaian stories.

He emphasized that the fanbase is more than just an audience. “We are a family,” Mr. Asare stated, explaining that members offer support during challenging times like illness and bereavement, and celebrate each other’s joys, including marriages and naming ceremonies.

According to Mr. Asare, the success of the trip has already generated enthusiasm for future adventures, demonstrating the unity and excitement within the group.

As ‘Aben Wo Ha News’ continues to provide a blend of education, entertainment, and emotional support to its listeners, this year-end trip serves as a testament to the loyalty and vibrancy of its growing community.
