Ghana Honors Inspirational Icons and Legacy Builders

The 2025 Ghana Outstanding Personality Awards (GOPA) ceremony was held with a sense of grandeur and thoughtful reflection, centered around the theme “Icons of Inspiration, Architects of Legacy.”

The event, a gathering of Ghana’s most distinguished individuals – including captains of industry, policymakers, and development partners – celebrated those whose leadership is actively shaping the nation’s socio-economic progress.

GOPA 2025 honoured exceptional individuals and institutions demonstrating vision, resilience, and innovation across sectors like manufacturing, logistics, education, healthcare, technology, finance, construction, arts, and social development. Organisers reaffirmed the awards’ commitment to recognizing excellence, ethical leadership, and lasting impact.

Lihong Shen, Security Advisor and Representative of the United Nations Department of Safety & Security (UNDSS), delivered the keynote address, highlighting the crucial connection between leadership, security, and building a sustainable legacy.

“Icons of inspiration are not simply defined by their successes,” Ms. Shen stated. “They are defined by their ability to create safe, inclusive, and resilient systems that empower communities and future generations.”

She commended Ghana’s private sector leaders for their contributions to peace, stability, youth empowerment, and inclusive growth, stressing that responsible leadership is fundamental to both national and global development.
