The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released all outstanding feeding grants to special and senior high schools nationwide, bringing relief to institutions struggling with school feeding programme costs.
According to a statement from the GES, the funds cover multiple academic terms and are intended to ensure the uninterrupted provision of meals to students.
Management confirmed on Friday, December 12, that the outstanding feeding grant for all special schools, spanning the 3rd term of the 2024/2025 academic year and the 1st term of the 2025/2026 academic year, has been fully disbursed.
In addition to the feeding grants, the GES has also cleared all arrears for perishable supplies owed to Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) for the period between July 29 and October 17, 2025.
The release stated that funds have been successfully transferred to the accounts of all affected institutions, enabling them to continue providing essential meal services without disruption. “Every affected institution has now had its funds successfully transferred into its respective account,” the statement affirmed.
The GES has reminded heads of Special Schools, SHSs, and SHTSs to submit official receipts acknowledging the receipt of these funds. These receipts should be submitted to the Director-General through their respective Regional Accountants as part of standard accountability and monitoring procedures.
GES expressed its gratitude to school heads for their cooperation and reiterated its commitment to supporting effective teaching, learning, and inclusive education throughout the country. “Management counts on the cooperation of all Heads and reiterates its continued commitment to supporting effective teaching, learning, and inclusive education across the country,” the release concluded.
