Aduana FC CEO Atta Poku Urges Focus on Player Marketing

Sports

Aduana FC CEO, Collins Atta Poku, has reiterated the need for football clubs in Ghana to market themselves, especially their players.

Speaking to Luv FM, he stressed the importance of building players’ capacity, including providing the necessary media materials to enable potential buyers to conduct due diligence.

He also emphasised the need for club officials to restrain themselves from excessive public exposure to avoid compromising the club’s image.

“We can’t be projecting ourselves at the expense of the club,” he said.

“Build the capacity of the players. I’m not even bluffing. A year ago, I was a management member. If you googled players of Aduana FC, you wouldn’t find current pictures, or you might not even find some of them at all.

“The person going onto Transfermarkt to look for a player will then try to find pictures and videos. Even after you provide videos, he will still go behind you to do due diligence.

“How would he find it? You have to help the person find it, so you have to take it seriously,” he stated.

Atta Poku also announced a planned media interaction at the Prempeh College School Park, where social media influencers, bloggers and journalists will engage with the players.
